Google Analytics Dashboards from Econsultancy

Today I have been researching custom Google Analytic dashboards and reports on Econsultancy.com.

The post describes 10 custom Google Analytics reports that could be helpful for publishers. The blog shows you how each one of the 10 customization may help you analyse your published work via Google Analytics, this blog also allows you to download this customized report straight to your own Google Analytics account via a link on the page. I decided the custom report posted by Dashboardjunkie could be the most appropriate to what I am doing on Google Analytics. This customized report offers features like being able to see how people have found your blog i.e. via Google search or YouTube. More features include how many people are viewing your blog, which of your posts are the most popular, where your readers live and are your reader mobile.

This report offered many benefits that are usable in analyzing my blog, however the dashboardjunkie report did not contain some features which I feel will be important in monitoring my blog.  The dashboardjunkie customized report inspired me to build my own custom report and tailor it to my needs.

I decided to log into my Google Analytics account and start building my own report via the 'Customization' tab at the top of the page. I looked through the categories that where available and chose some custom metrics which would show on my report, examples of some of the metrics I chose are, number of page views my blog is getting, the bounce rate the blog is experiencing, what city my readers live in and on what continent this city is located. These metrics have allowed me to analyse my blog more effectively.

From my experience of creating my own report I would suggest that all Google Analytics users give it a go!
